Baby it's Cold Outside!

Brrrrr..... It has been bone-chilling cold outside - Sunday night our low here was -11.  Yes, -11!  The high was about 5 and those numbers do not include the wind chill factor.  Today was actually mild, I think the high was in the low 30's but the cold is heading back, ugh.  I know I am not the only one struggling as it's been colder than usual in many parts of the US (and for our Canadian friends too).  But, as the old saying goes, if you can't be 'em, join 'em!

So on a recent sunny, albeit cold, day I headed outside to shovel yet again.  But the sun was truly glorious.  With some encouragement, hubby agreed it would be nice to take the dogs for a walk though not as long as we usually go.  I actually enjoyed it - it felt good to be out, especially with the sun shining down.

Maybe you can't tell, but the sky was gorgeous!
Here's our gas grill - do you see it under all that snow?!

My salt and snow covered car!

Okay, so I took a little break to take pictures while hubby was shoveling, ha!

Can you tell how beautiful the trees look, snow covered?

Our pretty snow covered neighborhood.

The dogs were so excited to be out and about that they were, er, a little uncooperative!

A view of the Niagara River is in the background.

Here's Abbey - I couldn't get her to stay still to get a good photo.  The dog loves the snow.  Hmmm.... I wonder if she'll like the beach as much when we move to the beach in a couple of years.

Molly loves the snow as you can tell by her snow-covered face~

Another gorgeous shot of the Niagara River.  It's hard to see but it is filled with ice and snow.

One more picture of the ice and snow in the river.

On the way home with cold dogs and an even colder hubby!

By now, I know you all understand how much I dislike the Winter.  I have lived here all of my life and quite frankly, enough is enough!  As soon as my children get out of college, our plan is to head south.  But, in the mean time I figure I have to embrace the snow and not let it make me miserable, right?  Oh but I have my dreams....

Stay warm....

Hi Jacalyn: I agree ... it's very cold outside and this winter seems to be dragging on and on and on. A lot of snow and very cold temperatures are all contributing factors. Your dogs don't look like they mind at all and your photos of the Niagara River and your neighbourhood are beautiful! I also enjoy the sun shining, even if it is 20 below! Have a great day!

I'm shivering just looking at your beautiful photos. It is in the 70s and sunny here in Arizona. I love the tags you have in your previous Pink Saturday post. They are lovely. (So is everything else but I especially love the tags)

Jacalyn, I am lucky and live in the only state without snow this year, Florida. We did have awful storms last night with tornadoes though, so bad weather is everywhere, I am just thankful I don't have to shovel it! Your puppies are darling....a thread, you said a thread wrapped around the dogs intestines! Well that was a freak thing, or us crafters would all have animals having surgery, I always have threads hanging around my sewing room. You stay warm!

I miss having winters. Even though I grew up only 4 hours north of here, we always had cold weather and a bit of snow every year. Not here in the low-country...the cold-ish weather only lasts a couple of months and then THE HEAT IS ON--the summers are BRUTAL! Kind of like your winter is...

Sounds like many have received more snow this winter than usual. Love the snow, but makes me appreciate the sunshine and 70 degree weather here in AZ.
Your photos are beautiful.

Thank god i will never have to go thru formal dress shopping again , our experience started when my daughter and i went to sassy boutique to buy a sherri hill dress , we tried it on in a larger size but they had told me sherri hill date to receive it will be later then her formal , so we thought we would try a place called dollhouse in top Ryde , they seemed pleasant she tried on the dress it was way to big for her but they said they can order the size for her by the formal , so we went ahead and placed a deposit mind you they were much cheaper then other places we had went to , anyway we were told the dress will take 3 weeks i went back after a week and asked how is the dress coming along , another girl had served us and told me the dress has finished , finished or arrived!!! so i was surprised anyway payed the balance and went home my daughter was so excited she tried it on and it closed but the bust area was so big so i went to the alteration place also in top Ryde and when i went there it was like he knew us , the guy told me " what’s wrong with it i just fixed it yesterday" , i said what!!! this is a new dress i just bought he hesitated and then quoted me a ridiculous price to fix it , so i went to another alteration place in Parramatter where she had told me this dress had already been altered and the bust area it is hard to fix , she fixed it as much as she can , but the bad thing about all this is i could not take dollhouse to consumer affairs because for me to get my discount , i accepted to buy it with no receipt and payed cash. So what we were told she altered the dress we had tried in the store and just made it smaller from the back zipper because the bust was fully beaded. I hope no one goes thru this i really urge you don't buy from there Doll house are cheaters
